We are open business as usual. No extra pay. I never had a job where I got paid extra for doing what I always did.
We close for Christmas day and New Years Day.

It usually slows down at night. you'll probably end up closing early.

Last year was very busy for us. We planned to early close but stayed open the usual hours
of 7AM-9PM. This year we plan to do the same - scheduled to open at 7AM and early close
at 5PM with last wash being 4PM. If it's slow we close early if it's busy we'll stay open til 9PM.

Closing early....
Okay, lets say I am your customer. I load up all my clothes, soap, etc in the car and head out to do my laundry at 6pm (I want to get it done before the fireworks start). I arrive at your mat (my normal mat) to do my laundry and find it is closed. What should I do? Driving to your competitors is my only other option other than dragging my dirty clothes home again.
You may run a nice mat, but a customer may find another mat just as nice as yours, or maybe one that has an amenity that they like better such as certain video game or next to a convenience store or restaurant.
With the 4th being on Sunday this year, a lot of people will probably still need to do their laundry during the weekend if they don't get Monday off. A lot of towns around my area are having the firework display on Saturday night therefore Sunday may be a better day due to all the blankets needing to be washed.
I am not saying closing early is bad. But if you decide to do so, you should post a sign on the front doors and next to any changers at least 10-14 days prior to the event. This will give your customers plenty of notice and hopefully they won't show up when you are closed.
