Medium Heat

Rather than hi-jack a previous thread, I am posting my question here:

If the care label says tumble dry in low, I dried them in medium heat (180 degree). If the label does not recommend using dryers, I dried them in delicate heat (130 degree).

For 30# stacks I use 110F for low, 150F for Perm Press (medium) and 170F as high

I tried setting these at 180F and they melted numerous items if even slightly overloaded so I lowered them to 160F - customers complained dryers were cold. 170F seems perfect for last 15 months (open 19 months).


For 50# single pockets I use 110F for low, 150F for Perm Press (medium) and 180F as high

I knew the larger dryers would have more airflow and were inherently less likely to melt items. Started at 180F and a premium price over 30#s and customers love them.

What temps are you using?

My stack 30's and 50's are set the same. 125/150/175

I inherited 9 older Huebsch Loadstars at a mat I just bought. Just last night, I went through and tweaked the temps all to 180.

Some of them were hitting 200. :eek:

I had the same problem at 180f. All my mats are set same as you stated. Seems to make everyone happy.

I think talking temperatures without talking dryer make and model is a mistake as all measure at a different point and have different air flow.

My ADC236 are set at 120/150/180 and I have never had any problems.

I run all my dryers at 120/150/180...except my adc330's which the computer tops out at 150.

When I first bought the adc 330's, I got a lot of complaints of low heat. I believe they limit the heat because the serpentine belt that turns the basket wraps directly around the basket. Too much heat causes premature belt failure.
This was unacceptable to me, so I found out that you can tweak the heat by turning a small potentiometer on the computer board.
I now measure the heat at around 165 on these dryers. Any higher and I'm changing too many belts.
PS - Howard those ADC 236's are great dryers. How do you like them?

These are my Huebsch TD30x30 and TD45x45 stacked dryers factory default temperature settings: High 190, medium 180, low 140, delicate 130. All my customers love how hot they are (particularly during winter time). My mat is 3 months old. There has been no complain about any garment damage due to high temperatures.
However, I'm going to lower the temperature to 180/170/140/130 soon (5 degree at a time) to save utility cost. I doubt that customer will tell the difference. :)
