Hi folks, I just bought a laundrymat out of bankruptcy court,
Heres my problem, the previous owner has dissapeared with
all the machine keys, how do I get duplicates and whats the estimated cost,2nd he used to do a lot of dry cleaning before he closed 3 months ago however I've found out that his equipment is out dated and was never suppose to be in operation, Any ideas on how to turn this situation around will
be greatly appreciated e-mail me or call me at 205-254-9697

Interesting...don't really know anything about the BK court process, but you must have got a screaming deal on it to take that kind of risk. Question - does it take just 3 months to go through the BK court process, or was he operating while that process was underway?
On the key situation, I would start by contacting the local distributors for the type of equipment you have. Perhaps he bought it from them and they have spare keys. You may alternately want to just replace some of the equipment. You could also contact the lock manufacturer..can find the numbers in the CLA mag. or on the web. I think drilling out the old locks and installing new locks is expensive (I don't know, but would imagine $100 per machine as a swag). The dry cleaning thing is a bust. I wouldn't buy new DC equipment, or use the old stuff, but you could try to get a drop store split with a nearby dry cleaner. You have probably lost most of those customers anyhow in the time the store has been closed.
Good luck

the service keys are common, call a distrib to find what you need. If you are very lucky than the guy had all the money keys the same. In that case drill out one and get the key number off the box, , order that key from a distrib. If the locks look different they may have several keys. The coin changer will take different keys, hire a thug to bust it open.. hehe no really, that will be an issue, buy some good drill bits.
