C'mon guys! Stop wearing your pajamas inside out for more snow. Over here we're supposed to get another 4-6 inches on top of the ice and snow that we've already gotten.

Suzy,

The front just passed through here and it's coming your way. It only snowed here for an hour or two but they're predicting a few inches of "lake effect" snow for tomorrow. That just means that the wind will be blowing off Lake Michigan and picking up moisture from the lake and dumping it as snow along the shoreline. 1 - 3 inches of lake effect is not uncommon around here and it usually doesn't cause much problem for drivers.

Lake effect hell is hitting us now in NE Ohio right now. Great way to put a damper on already slow business. :(

So, does the winter weather normally create more business in the Mid West and East Coast, and then the severe weather slows it down? In CA the winter is good for business around Redding...slower in the summer heat when it's all short pants and t-shirts.

We only visit our relatives and friends out that way in Aug / Sept...beautiful. It's weird how so many business' close down after Labor Day in upper Michigan...does not matter if the weather is great, because it might not be.

Oh yeah, I ordered a hot dog like I do in CA and was given seriously dirty looks by the gal...she said "you want it all the way or not !!" I said OK.

Hope the sun come out.

Snow is good only if you are in the skii resort or snow plow business! Mark

Mark, too much snow isn't wanted in the Plowing Business either. That is my other business. We have all contract so what we want is enough snow to salt but not enough to plow. We had a good December and a steady January so far.

Laundromat is dead when it snows.

Snow definitely slows down business here. I guess the condos building laundry rooms are packed all these days.
