Cleaning around the detergent drop doors?

We have Wascomat machines in our laundromat.The rubber/plastic doors on the top of the machines get caked on residue from detergents.Does anyone know of a way to help eliminate this problem?Currently we have to use a knife to scrape this off to keep the build-up down.Any help would be helpful.Thanks,Dan

I don't know about eliminating it, but you can use a small portable steamer to clean it.
