When I bought my business 5 months ago i took over the owners Inventory. I recently had to reorder soap. I never realized the profit margin was so low. Is it possible I'm paying
too much. Could you give me the name and phone # of a distributor that has good prices on machine dispensed soap.

Offering soap is mostly for the conveneince of your customers, and you can either punish them for forgetting their soap and teach them never to forget their soap, or you can vend the products at a modest return. At a vend price of 50 cents the profit margin was around 15cents per box. I think our market could easily handle a 75 cent vend price and net a much greater return in this area. The average cost per box of soap averaged approx .29 cents per box

Search the internet or canvas "The Journal" and other similiar type
coin laundry magazines for the best price. We pay .24cents per box
(oxyclean is .28cents). We charge .75cents (that's .68cents per box
plus tax = .75cents). It's not a part of the biz that will make ya rich.
As previously stated it's more for a convenience to customers. Oh,
congrats on the purchase of your laundromat business..

I with I could charge .75 cents. I have 4 other competitors witin 2 miles and they all charge .50 cents. If I didn't have the competition that I do I would charge .75 cents.
