Anyone ever had success in breaking lease.I'm on my second term after 10 years on first now on second of five. Rent at $15 with yearly increases.Trouble is additional CAM fees are so high can't make any money. Just got a bill for $11,000 for last year and another backbill for $4,000 this year. Landlord is rebuilding the center with the tenants money, i.e. repaving.

Sounds like you need a lawyer. Repaving does not sound like maintenance - it sounds like a capital improvement. Patching potholes is maintenance. Good luck

I agree, you need a lawyer. I wouldn't try to break a lease without one, and depending on the language of your lease it could be that you and the other tenants of the property could be in for rebates since repaving and rehabilitation don't fall into the category of maintenance, at least not in my opinon, but I'm not a lawyer, that's why you need one!
