Just paid one of my bills and it was .00681 per gallon .
I pay 2.6 cents per gallon. Yup, what a freakin bargain, eh?

NYC water: .00394 per gal - 2.95 per ccf
NYC sewer: .00627 per gal - 4.69 per ccf (with 5% discount possible)
going up 7.5% on 1 July
Yonkers, NY water: .00206 per gal - 1.54 per ccf
Yonkers, NY sewer: .00058 per gal - 0.43 per ccf
Yonkers is just north of NYC.

WOW - finally someone that pays more than me - never thought I would live to see the day. I pay about 2 cents.

Guys,
I pay a total of $.0045 per gallon for water, sewage and normal fees.
Howard, still paying for the cleanup of the Boston Harbor, or so they say. Its tough, because the customer base doesn't appreciate or care about the local water rates. But the way I try to look at it is my competition is paying the same....so level playing field it is.....I just wouldn't own a store near the city line where the next city over is significantly cheaper.

2.95 cents per gal water and sewer since Dec 2010. Was .92 cents. 300+% increase. Water and sewer = 24% of gross.

Utilities can raise their rates over 300% at one time yet some of us still think we need penny-increment pricing flexibility.

Increased flexibility is always prefered over less flexibility. I can raise my prices by $1.00 at a time, you can't raise your's by 17 cents or 69 cents - just one dollar :)

Current utilities cost May 2011.
Water $1.17 per 10K= 0.000117 per gal all taxes included.
Sewer $2.91 per 10K=0.000291 per gal all taxes included.
Electric 0.10 per KW all taxes included.
Natural Gas 8.17 per decatherm = 0.82 per therm delivered with all taxes.
Yes I am also will be receiving increases. :(.

May 2011 bill for 42,000 gallons is $265 (includes water, sewer, monthly service charge and taxes), so I would say about 0.0065 per gallon
Larry, you have to remember, at least in my neck of the woods, we have no choice where we get our water from, so yeah, they can do what they want.
As mat owners, we of course have to compete in a free market, meaning the more flexibility generally the better. The utility gets to dictate prices to us. We have to try to find a balance with what we charge.

IM paying about .0043 water, sewer, fees combined. Last time I checked my competitors down the street from me are paying about 2.5 times more then me. The city IM in gets 100% of the water from ground water not The DWP or MWD. Now IM hearing the DWP is going to be raising there rates again. I'd like to see what these other laundries do.
