I am thinking about doin WDF at my mat. However, one Mat owner I talked to said that they tried doing WDG but had to stop because they couldn't get the Folding right.
Hmmm.....Is there a particular way to fold clothes when you do WDF? Where can I learn more about it?
I can have a load WDFed at another Mat but how do I know if they are doing it right? Is there a Folding standard?

As long as everything is folded neatly, it shouldn't be a problem. Just as a rule of thumb though, shirts should be folded like those you find new in stores where you lay it flat and fold one half to the collar and fold the sleeve in, and then fold in the other side, followed by folding the shirt in half. (hope that makes sense, if you don't know what I am talking about with the stores) I always say presentation is everything. Just make sure that everything put back into the basket is arranged according to size, so it looks neat and not a big mess all thrown in there.

Are you a CLA member? The CLA has several great sections in the gold book on WDF and thay also have a video that I use to train my employees V-50 "Managing Wash-Dry-Fold for Greater Profits" it is a two part seminar from Clean 01. in the second part Donna Miller gives a great break down on how to.
As mentioned befor its all about consitensey and presentation!

We basically do the following things: (1) ensure everyone is doing the same thing,
(2) fold each piece as it would be found when purchased new (we roll socks), (3)
we put the garments in right-sized plastic bags versus put them back in the basket,
(4) we take the air out of the plastic bag, tie a tight low knot and cut off the extended
part of the plastic bag. This ensures the clothes stay folded, neat and in place so when
the customer gets home the garments haven't been tossed around and unfolded from
the ride in the car, (5) we honor special requests - ie, we fold bathroom garments in
three sections but one customer like his bathroom garments folded in two sections,
(6) we put all like garments together so when you get home it's already organized
and easy to unpack. On a lighter wdf note, make sure the garments are thoroughly
dry, baskets and/or containers are tagged and returned, and hanging clothes are
tagged and returned as well as return anything you find during the wdf process.
