I added Home and office cleaning to my services, hired two staff members to do this. I spent about 300$ for start up supplies, added the service to my yelp ad and flyers. I now have both staff full time 40 hours a week cleaning, brings in about 800$ per week, have to spend about 40$ per week to replenish supplies, but once you work out the scheduling kinks its worth it.
You can see my ad on yelp for the details. I started back in march and it is working. So now doing about 25k in wdf and ironing, 16k on self service, and I cant wait to see what happens in september when we ramp back up from our summer time slow down. Wash Em Up 2 in odessa TX going slowly but going.

Sean:

This seems like a great add-on. I am assuming the $800 is weekly net, correct?

What are the demographics in your area? What type of businesses and what income level of individuals are using your services (I am trying to determine if the markets around my potential laundromats will support this service)? Do you have a minimum number of hours (do you need 2+ hours to make it profitable/worth your time and travel)?

Sean,

It seems like your on the way to becoming the "king of clean everything" down there! ;)

Have you thought about a few commercial fleet vehicle cleaning trucks? Get the local rental fleets or utility truck fleets...

When I had the spray-in bedliner shop, i bought everything to do fleet oilfield service truck detailing, but after spending hours on each truck scraping the paint (from the feild) over spray off with razor blades, quickly gave that up.

Cleaning is 25$ per hour. Homes are 4 hour minimum first time then we can go from there . Offices are 4 hour minimum first time and generally 3 hours after that . Most important is to goto the location yourself for the estimate. I went to a house two weeks ago and charged 40$ per hour based on the condition of the home, now we go back once a week for 8 hours at 25$ per hour. We can do 2 offices in one evening. If I quote them 4 hours each and get both done in 4 I make more. Jobs like that I use my attendants, they volunteer for them make an extra 30$ I roll the rest back to the mat. Nice 170 profit. Full time housekeepers work two 4 hour jobs or one 8 hour job. I will go first time to help with deepcleaning after that one can do the job freeing me up to check on other housekeeper. Look at new customers or check on laundry. (or goto da gym)

Sean,

My wife had to hire a new housekeeper last month as our long-time gal moved out of state. Most commercial cleaning companies want to see our house before they quote an hourly cleaning rate. We won't allow that as they jack up the hourly rate as soon as they see the place. So we won't use commercial companies. My wife hires and trains an individual to clean and we get a more thorough cleaning without having to put up with different people coming in and not knowing where to begin.

They probably see all that 'gold' laying around!
