I kust started staying open all night two nights a week and need a way to make it more appealing. How about having an "Unlimted Wash" where for $19.99 for the first month you can use all the washers and dryers you want btwn Midnight and 7am. After that it goes to 29.99 per month. I bill their credit card monthly and they can still use the card at other hours of the day. If they cancel their credit card, I cancel their card.

Some one might try to share it with a freind, but for the price it is hardly worth it. Make them show their id to use the card maybe? It is simliar to Blockbuster etal where they get you to sign up for unlimited dvds. They want to get you on monthly billing and in the store as much as they can.

What aspects am I missing?

I have a netmaster speed queen system. I could set it up on a card to turn off and on at certain times of the day and specific days of the week. Until I see if it is going to fly, I figured i'd just have the attendant start the machines and keep track of how much each customer used.

Any suggestions?

How has this promotion been going for you? I find this type of pricing interesting - let me know your thoughts.

We deceided to see how the 24hr thing would work first. We ran it for 2 months and most of our customers were regulars. For it to work we needed new customers who wouldn't come during our normal business hours. Many nights were zero and few were more than $30.

I found out my attendant brought a lawnchair and slept behind the counter. She did pay another attendant out of her own pocket to watch over things while she slept. Wierd. Both are no longer with the company.

I love new ideas - but the first thing that I think of with this one is that you'll have several people doing the laundry for their whole apartment block. Pay you the $19.99 and charge all of their friends a fee for doing their laundry. Any concern about this? I would be interested to see if it works out for you, hope it does.
