Hello,
I am looking at buying a laundry. What should I look for as far as equipment, asking price, gross numbers etc...Any and all thoughts would be appreciated.

Virginia,

You need to buy "Today's Coin Laundry" from the CLA here. It is the best for evaluating whether or not to buy a laundry. Once you have these basics down, posting more specific questions here will get you the answers you need.

Virgina,
Your question is so open-ended that I don't think you are going to get much of a response. There are just so many variables... My recommendation is to subscribe to CLA's magazine. Become educated in the industry. Talk to equipment vendors in your area and maybe even business brokers to get into the 'network'. It is a small world and once you uncover it, you will have a wealth of information.

When you get a location picked out that you are fairly serious about, I would spend a few days in the place and work with the attendant. If the owner is not willing to let you participate in a few robs and see the money then forget it. If he is serious about selling the place, he should be willing to "show you the money". On our first laundry I spent alot of time hanging around with the owner to see the works.
