I thought you should know...
Last month we had a significant issue with spam. Thanks to the spam filters and the moderation team none of you had to deal with any of this publicly. We did have to install an additional spam filter/plugin to help us more effectively manage the attacks (that particular time we were getting 100-200 spam posts a day). That said, please be aware that some of your posts may be caught by this filter (some already have been) and get tossed into the spam filter's moderation queue. We'll push those posts live as soon as we find them, provided they're not truly spam or in violation of the terms and conditions of the board (http://www.planetlaundry.com/forum/announcement.php?f=16).
Those of us that help keep the board clean of spam, spammers, ensure discussion flows and enforce the rules (http://www.planetlaundry.com/forum/announcement.php?f=16) consist of a team of volunteer and staff moderators. That team includes mainly myself (Kim Fenolio, the Director of Marketing and Online Development at CLA and PlanetLaundry) and CanCanCase (volunteer). Both Brian_Wallace (Brian Wallace is the President and CEO of CLA) and Deputy_Executive_Director (Michael Sokolowski is the Executive Vice President of CLA) also monitor activity here and make the rules and decisions that make the existence of this board possible.
So we've got your back. You shouldn't ever seen spam on these boards, and if something does squeak through please let me know ASAP. If something you post gets caught in the filter, know that we'll clean it out of the queue just as soon as we see it. Thanks for your understanding!
