View Full Version : Water on the Floor

What types of things can cause water to puddle under the machines or drain onto the floor? I first experienced this problem last week, and chalked it up to oversudsing. Mopped up the water and all seemed fine. Now, a week later, it has happened again.

The drain hose is where it's supposed to be, and I can't see any other problem areas. What should I be looking for, or what else can cause this? I have a series of MAH14's.

BTW, this is a mat I took over when my father passed--he was a mechanical genius, I, unfortunately, am limited in that capacity.

Thanks for your help!

Open the door to the washer and take your hand and feel around the grey boot. You will probably find a small hole somewhere on the boot.

They have a new black boot that holds up better.

That was it! There's a tear in the boot. I'm going to look in my parts stash to see if I have one on hand, otherwise I'll give MacGray's a call--and they can come out to show me how to change it.

Thanks! You saved us a ton of time and frustration.

These are pretty simple to replace, but you will need some good vise grips to stretch the spring. Be careful or the spring will shoot across the mat.....

I have had to replace one in the last 2.5 years, someone dropped a nail in the boot and it eventually tore a hole in it. The new black ones are redesigned and much tougher, so I have heard.
