What is the Avg life of a Washer and Dryer?

in my route service i am using maytag top loaders. i think the manufactures state around 7 yrs.
my current machines are going on 8 yrs. some of the most used machines average about 250 cycles/month. consider those hard working cycles as a lot of over loading occurs.
right at about 7 yrs is when i noticed the repairs beginning to escalate. lots of seals and bearings, lots of transmissions. thats not to say that they are done at 7 yrs. once they are fixed they are good to go.
when i change the seal/main bearing i am noticing that there is a lot of rust on the tubs.
i am sure my machines could go another couple of years, no sweat!
