I've noticed on my Google Places reports that far more people are doing searches for 24hr laundromats than any other search criteria (at least in my area which is NYC).

This suggests that there is a much bigger demand for 24hr Laundromats than we might expect.

I remember when I was mulling over the decision to go to a 24hr operation back in 2001, I was talking to a contractor who builds Mats in my area. I've known him for many years and I respect his opinion. He said that if I switch to 24hrs, I will not only get new customers at night, but my sales during the DAY will pick up because people are attracted to 24hr Mats. He was right, at least for me.
People basically seek the path of least resistance. All things being equal, the day customers will choose a 24hr mat over a "day" mat because they don't have to bother thinking about when the store opens or closes, or when the "last wash" will be.

Anyone else notice that?
