Let me see.
As far as mats are concerned, the mats we see down south are much more impressive than here. Our rents and taxes usually dictate smaller mats. You are more than welcome to stop by mine - nothing impressive - just clean, decent equipment and missing out of order signs. I'm on the north east side of the city.
If you have the need to throw away some money, the Fallsview Casino is probably best - and they have a number of shows playing there.
Go to Niagara on the Lake. A very trendy town. Home of the Shaw Festival - Google that and you can see the shows going there.
In Toronto, there is the CN Tower (1800 feet tall - observation deck has a glass floor). It is right beside the Rogers Centre (retractible roof where the Blue Jays play) and very close to the Air Canada Centre (where the Raptors and Maple Leafs play). In downtown Toronto is also the home of the Hockey Hall of Fame.
Right now, Cavalia's Odysseo is playing till July 11th (show with horses and stage - supposed to be good, and may be extended again).
Roy Thompson Hall is where the symphony plays. Within the last 3 or 4 years we have built a world class opera house. The RBC Canadian Open (PGA golf) is in Hamilton in late July, and the Rogers Cup (pro tennis) is early August. There are usually a number of shows playing in the city check out Mirvish.com for most of them, or ticketmaster.ca.
I would assume coming from Florida that you don't need to see theme parks, but we do have Canada's Wonderland on the notrth side of Toronto. I would skip Marineland in Niagara Falls unless its changed since I've been there - too run down.
About an hour and a half north of Toronto is cottage country. If you are looking for boating, fishing or camping, that is the best place to go.
Remember the passport - I'm not sure if they will let anyone across without one (never needed more than picture ID up to a few years ago).
PM me if you need anything else.

Here is a shot of the Casino and both falls from our room at the Hilton:
Parking is expensive at most of the hotels, $20 a day - but you can park at the casino for only $5 when you exit - and they don't track how long you leave the car there. You can also get one of their PAC cards which gives you $10 of their money to gamble with. We are not gamblers, but if they give you free money what the heck. We played the slot machines and actually netted a whopping $7.25 cents! Plus we got a credit on the card for free parking.

Howard,
Apparently I better not stay at the Hilton if I go back to Niagara Falls. Obviously it's much too close to the Casino. I'd have to put Barb (my wife) on a very short chain indeed.

Good to hear that you are spending some of that US currency up here. The Canadian government thanks you.

Anyone in Toronto on Thursday, Friday or Saturday evening (July 26-28) can check out the Beaches Jazz Fest, when they close 2 KM (1.2 miles) of Queen Street East and thousands of folks come out to hear 50 bands playing on streetcorners and in front of storefronts. They don't play in front of mats though, because high rents and high property values put the mats out of business... replaced by $$$ shops.

I still long for the times when both sides of the border advertised & freely accepted each others money at the same rate. It could be still happening some in Minot, Grand Forks, & Winnipeg though.
