James,
Hey ... I'm just sayin' ... if you're tired of removing bra stas from your drain valves ... maybe it's time to view the whole situation from another angle.
They call me the rebel ... rebel ... always tryin' to break out of the box that the LAW puts me in ... that's why I'm the rebel ... rebel ...

I'll bet a Suds N Duds franchise could be had if you wanted to work some alcohol into the mix too! ;-)

I actually charge the customer $1.00 for the card. That way the customer now sees "value" with the card and will hold onto it and not just pitch it in the garbage on their way out of the store. I will then offer the customer to receive the dollar back onto their account if they register the card into our system, thus allowing me to capture their information. If the customer doesn't want to give us their info. and is making a big deal, then I tell them that the $1 is just a deposit and I will be more than happy to refund the $1 when they are finished, but I will take the card back and recycle it.

anyone has a loyalty program that works very well?
please elaborate your program
i'm thinking of every $10 spent earns 1 point, and every 10 points per month earns 1 credit to the card for the next month's spending.

I like the way you think In my opinion it's the best option for your customers, but of course I think that because it's what we have installed in our Tulsa store. The only two downsides to it is that you still have to collect coins, although not as often as you would at a coin only store, and there are of course the monthly credit card processing fees. In terms of differentiation from competition, the benefits have been huge.

It's hard to tip the girls with dollar coins. It will never work, Larry! Of course Case would try swiping a card somewhere, but we won't get into that...

Yea, my son went to Montreal and said it is frowned on to throw Loonies and Toonies at the girls.
