Sewer costs

Got my first water bill for the newest mat in my small collection.. Was a little shocked to find the sewer fee in this city is 80% of the water.. Other mats are 50%. Did not check this.. my bad as they say.. So what are y'all stuck with? Guess I could do a poll but i'm too lazy.. Oh BTW raising prices this week at this location..

I would suggest raise vend price a little bit...to compensate your surprised and unexpected sewer bill

I'm not sure what the comparison is worth - water and sewer both vary all over the map. But at my store, the sewer bill is 33% of the water bill. (Water here is $0.0041/gallon.)

My most recent water bill included sewer charges at 110% of the water charges. Yeppers, the sewer charge was 10% more than the water charge. If that doesn't hurt enough, the City of Milwaukee adds user fees to the water bill for things like snow plowing and street light maintenance. Fortunately, my mats are outside of the city limits.

I have two stores in the same sewer district, but in different cities. My store, in the smaller, of the two cities, calculates your sewer usage once a year. I remodeled the store over the summer, replacing tops with front loaders, my water bill went down bye 60%, sewer didn't budge. I went to plead my case to have my sewer reassessed in mid year, but as its stands my water is $105, sewer is $700. My sewer is about 130% of water.

I am all for raising prices but should be the right reason and at regular intervals. Not sure you not liking the water/sewer bill as a new owner is valid. It would be better to know when the last increase was and the amounts.
