Need Machine Advice
I own a Campground with a coin laundry, currently 6-18 lb Horizon FL's with stack dryers about 9 years old. Not Happy. looking to replace machines. Reading this forum for a month, I have decided that my best bet was 30lb Dexter machines. Talked to a local Mat owner, he advised Huebsch {how do you pronounce that anyway?}
My Campground has many kids, dogs, atvs, campfires and so on, so the clothes they are washing are sometimes VERY dirty/muddy.
What do Y'all think?
Also,
My customers are not regular coin-op users- My horizons count down the vend 2.00-1.75-1.50 ect then display the clock 29 {min} MANY customers then try to put in 29 cents, so I need Very user friendly machines.

Lenny,
Almost all quality frontloaders today display the price, count it down as money is inserted and then begin showing the minutes remaining in the cycle after the customer selects a cycle and pushes the start button. This is the way my Huebsch (pronounced "hibs") hardmount frontloaders work too.
If you're looking for a high quality, hardmount frontloader with rugged construction and a long warranty; Huebsch should certainly be at the top of your list. They come in 20, 30, 40, 60 and 80 lb sizes and they are very efficient since all rinses are cold water and some baths use a low or medium water level while other baths use a high water level. I have 24 Huebsch frontloaders and some are approaching 7 years old yet they look just as good as my 1 year old Huebsch washers.

Re: Need Machine Advice
Lenny, Huebsch is pronounced "Adamski" I would investigate both machine brands and see who gives the better deal. You shouldn't go wrong with either brand. I have a Dexter store, but Huebsch is certainly a good brand also. Remember these are 220 volt and will require expensive bases that must be properly installed to meet warranty obligations.

Re: Need Machine Advice
Would 6" steel c-channel be a workable base? I have the shop to build my own bases, would hate to buy them for the prices they quoted- around $275

Re: Need Machine Advice
Lenny,
If you make your own bases, the manufacturer of the washers may not honor the warranty.

As long as the bases are built to specs and machines installed to spec you can get bases and install from anyone including yourself. You can get the specs from any distrib or manufactor.
I ask what type of stack dryer do you have? Is it a large 30# basket per pocket or a smaller homestyle stack dryer? If you do not have commercial stack dryers no sense in getting 30# washers. I have a mat in a resort area and vacationers and old people head straight to the top loaders, there is no learning curve. I would assume a machine to wash big items like sleeping bags would be a great addition though.

Re: Need Machine Advice
I would put in 30lb stacks to match the 30lb washers.
Found out the Huebsch and Speed Queen are now the same, so looking at the SC30 with B-Micro.
Some dealers have floor models for $4000, sound right?
