What color decor is best?

In process of purchasing an existing LM that needs more lighting, signage and a fresh paint job. Has anyone a thought on what color works best to paint walls? In looking at some of the "superwashes" in area, most are a light blue or yellow. Any thoughts are appreciated.

I like white. Makes the store look bright and clean.

ditto to Duane white is bright, what more do you want? need a statement? get an aritist to paint a wall or two ( after you pant it white)

I too am getting ready to paint, and looking at color combinations from charts. White is bright and clean looking, but white ceiling, walls, and equipment is laying down a whole lot of white. Maybe I've been watching too many episodes of "Trading Spaces" (and similar shows) on television, but I want some new colors! - nothing dark, but I want my regular customers to come in and say "wow". What's cool now is that the paint manufacturers give you the different colors that compliment the primary color you choose. Anybody tried any faux painting techniques that you thought came out good? Theme stores?

I recommend cutting the white paint with some blue. Lots of white looks stark while a light blue tinge makes it look clean. A trick used in coloring of detergents. The paint needn't look blue at all when you are don't just a bit tinted.
