I could have paid them 50 cents an hour!

So, I was cleaning in my unattended mat today, when a father and son walked in together to do their laundry. The son saw we had a new arcade game and wanted to play so he asked his dad for a quarter. The father said no. The son then proceeds to see if he can find any loose change on the floors. He starts to look between the cracks of the machines to see if he can find a big score. So as he is feverishly working away, I pull out a quarter from my pocket and give it to him. He says thanks and starts to walk towards the game, at the same point the father says lets go, and he left with my quarter. So I finish cleaning and go home. I check the cameras about two hours later and the father son combo are back, except this time they are both working on the cracks between the machines to get a quarter. I watch the tape, and no lie they both work at it for an hour and a half! An hour and a half for one quarter! First they try their fingers, then a rolled up newspaper, they try a pen, leave the mat and get what looks like electrical wire fom their car. From what I can tell, I don't think they even got a single quarter. I could have paid them 50 cents to clean up the floor and they would have made more money. Oh and did I mention their laundry had been dry for about 45 minutes when they finally gave up.

Of course, had you paid them both .50 cents for that hour, you would have likely had 2 workmans comp claims, 2 DOL claims, an IRS audit, and a very unhappy insurance agent, and a very happy attorney. Les

Reminds me of my quarter pusher. I keep a $5 bill and a $10 bill in it. A guy got the 5, (after spending at least $5) then went right over to the change machine, changed it into quarters, and tried for the $10 bill. He spend the entire $5, and got his laundry and walked out! Love customers like that!
