How much off list price should we get?
I'm upgrading some equipment for the first time in 10 years and need some help to see if I'm getting a good price. I need SQ Quantum Gold in order for my card system to work so I cant really compare other brands. My question is what is the typical discount off list price? You can't really shop distributor vs distributor because they are territorial protected. My quote was 35% off list. Here is what they quoted me.
___ list price After discount
20# 5337 ...... 3422
60# 12264 ...... 7864
80# 17459 ...... 11196

No. Freight and install separate. This price is just for the washer.

Super High compared to what? I know you can buy less expensive washers but I need to have Quantum Gold in order for my card system to mesh the old technology with the new. Otherwise I'd need to retool the entire store. All new washers, dryers, and VTMs. Plus buy new cards since nothing would read the old cards, and refund ALL the money left on the old cards.
So... How much off list should I be looking for?

I just installed two 60lb Huebsch Galaxy 600 and got them for $6975.00 each including freight after some price shopping with another Dist. They started at $8,900.00 each without freight.

Bruce,
One of the big reasons I've avoided a card system is exactly what you mention above. Technology is constantly changing and what works on yesterday's washers does not work on washers bought tomorrow. Dollar coin technology is not evolving (changing) and dollar coin drops off yesterday's washers can be installed on tomorrow's washers.
Okay. I've stepped down from my soap box now.
I bought 5 Huebsch 20#, Galaxy 600, 140g extract washers with World drops for $3,373 each. These washers were purchased last December. This price includes the base. This price does not include tax or shipping costs.

Larry and others, the card system should be a total non-issue. If you figure that washers last about 10 years (some much more some less), then you probably want to get a new card system anyway when you do a total upgrade. You have fully paid for the card system several times over and newer technology today will probably give you more than your old system had. You would not buy a new car and then use the old tires from your junker. You also are unlikely to use your 10 year old coin mechs from your old washers in your new ones, you are either going to get new coin mechs or new card readers with a new card system.
