Simple Advertising

Hello Everyone!

Just wanted to see what different people have done to advertise their laundromats? Being new to this field I have spent hours online browsing but I thought you all would have the best knowledge of what works and what doesn't. I have heard mailers, posting business cards places, etc. Is there any that are well worth the money spent or any that are free that if it fails it isn't a big problem financially?

The CLA gives members free websites. Kim has had webinars on how to get free or cheap things on the web. To find out what works in your neighborhood just ask other business owners. They have already tried alot of things and can point you to the things that seem to work in your area.

Other than your own website, the others are free and only cost you your time.


For those of you who have not claimed your business on google and other sites, you should do so asap. Just because you don't claim it doesn't mean people are not already reviewing your store. Claim it and respond as needed to bad reviews in a professional manner.

I have signed up with Google Places, just waiting for their postcard and will do the same with Facebook and Twitter. Not real familiar with Yelp but will check that out.

Josh here is something simple and will produce instant results.

Have some REALLY NICE 6X9 flyers made, full color both sides and have someone pass them out for a few weeks. You will see an impact right away.

I would do some type of promo on them so you get a good response. 5,000 should not cost more then $300 to make.

I am having a new sign put up this week... When you say lighted sign do you mean one that towers over the building like a McDonalds? If so, what does that run? Can't be cheap.

Where do you suggest they be passed out? The mall? The grocery store?

Exactly, anywhere with in 1 mile of your store... Just put them on cars.

Check local ordinances on putting it on car windshields though.
