Best Overall 80 pound washer
I would like your opinions on the best 80 pounder based on price, reliability, and ease of customer use.

I've got Dexter T-1200's in all of my stores. Great reliability...as in haven't had to do a darn thing to them in 3 years except the occasional breaker reset when someone overloads them.
Then again, I'm dumping the 80's in favor of a pair of the new 90 lb. Express T-1450's in our new store...
Generally, I think people who use Monster Washers are going for volume over quality, so I don't believe features like compass control, texting when load finishes, infinite cycle programmability, etc. are all that important...

Case,
Out of curiosity, how much water does the 80 & the 90 use? My water bill last month was just shy of $1700.

Dexter lists the T-1200 (80 lb. non-Express) as using approximately 83 gallons.
The T-1450 (90 lb. Express) uses approximately 81 gallons.
I'm getting ready to have to price washes across town differently. Even though we're serviced by a community water board, the water and sewer rates are set by 2 separate city assemblies. At store #2, I pay $X for up to 5000 CFM, then $Y per 1000 CFM beyond the first 5000. Sewer is flat rate up to 10000 CFM of metered water, and a small tokenism for 5000 CFM beyond the initial.
At store #1, I pay $X per CFM - no tiers or flat rates. Sewer is simply 2x water usage, so my bill multiples $X by CFM and multiples that by 3. With #2 doing roughly 60% more volume/revenue than #1, it's odd to me that the water sewer bill at #1 is always nearly double that of #2.
Each store has enough of its own identity and customer base now that I think #1 is going to need to see a $3.99 double loader, while #2 can stay around $3.49.
As always, every market is different, and individual mileage may vary!

Two questions regarding the Dexters :
a) Is there a non-Express 90 pounder ?
b) Can the average customer see a size difference between the 80 and the 90 pounders ?

A) no, not that I'm aware of. A-series washers come in 20, 30, 40, 60 and 80 lb capacities. Express washers are available in 20, 30, 50, 60 and 90 lb capacities.
B) if they were in the same store together, absolutely. If the were used to using one or the other, they would notice a big difference for sure. If the customer has never seen a really big washer in a laundromat before, both would likely appear "huge." Personally, I'm used to looking at the T1200's with their 11.5 cf drum, and the T1450 with a 14 cf drum is FREAKIN' MONSTROUS!
Actually, I've only seen a few of the Continental 125's, but they don't impress me like the T1450's because of the regular size door...

I agree 100% with what you said. While the conti 125 is still the old style, have a look at the Conti EH090. It looks massive due to being a softmount.
