Respondents to a recent Planet Laundry Web Poll indicated a good deal of optimism as we head into 2010. In fact, asked what segment of their self-service laundry businesses held the greatest potential for growth in the coming year, 54 percent of the laundry owners who responded pointed to their “walk-in customer” business.
In addition, 23 percent felt that their commercial accounts would be on the rise in 2010, while only 15 percent of those responding to the poll thought their residential, wash-dry-fold services would be a growing segment of their businesses.
Rounding out these end-of-year responses, a perhaps surprising 8 percent of laundry owners saw drop-off drycleaning as the number-one growth category for their laundry businesses as we ring in a new decade.
