Laundry owners responding to a recent Planet Laundry Web Poll weighed in with their top business resolutions for 2010. And, perhaps a good sign that better days are ahead, the number-one resolution among respondents was to “build or buy another store” – with 33 percent of laundry owners focusing on expansion as their top goal for this year.
In second place was “focus more on advertising and marketing,” which is something that 19 percent of the respondents said would be their main priority in 2010.
Tied for third place, with 14 percent of the vote each, were “upgrade my store’s laundry equipment” and “increase my drop-off laundry revenue.”
“Increase my commercial account revenue” finished in fifth place among PL Web Poll respondents with 10 percent of the vote. Meanwhile, 5 percent of the laundry owners checking in said they were most interested in “enhancing attendant training” in the New Year.
Another 5 percent of those who responded to the poll were clearly newcomers to the industry whose major business goal was to “open my very first self-service laundry.”
Surprisingly, the only “resolution” that didn’t receive any votes was “renovate my laundromat.”
