Cut the time or temperature on my dryers? Raise my vend prices? Whats your opinion? Lowering water levels is not the answer. Remember that a lot of your customers still want to actually see the water and suds splashing around and cleaning their clothes. If youre looking to save on water costs, perhaps cut the last of your three rinses; this will save water, as well as some electricity. However, dont touch your water levels. Also, dont tinker with your dryer settings. A large percentage ...

A Look at Massachusetts-Based Changer Manufacturer Triad Design Group Triad Design Group, headquartered in Littleton, Mass., has been involved with developing products that dispense coins and currency since 1975 although not always specifically for the self-service laundry business. In the late 1980s, the company developed a large change machine for the casino industry, which held $10,000 dollars in quarters. What made this changer unique was the fact that not only would it accept currency, but it also would dispense money when a bar-coded coupon was inserted into the bill acceptor. Although this might not seem that ground-breaking today, Triad was the ...

Once You Understand How Customers Find Your Laundry, the Goal Should Be to Make It Easy for Others to Follow in Their Footsteps Anyone whos ever walked into your laundry has a story behind how they got there and youd do well to listen to them whenever you get the chance. What do I mean? Try stopping some of the customers in your store, and ask them how they found you. Some will simply tell you that they saw your sign out front and wanted to drop by; if only getting every customer were that simple. Others in fact, the majority of your customers will probably tell you a much different story. It will be an elaborate yarn that outlines the efforts they took ...

Taxing Sugary Beverages Increasing at the Local Level The debate over the health impact of sugar has raged for decades, and sugary beverages have been singled out by some advocates as negatively affecting Americas obesity epidemic. More recently, policymakers in a handful of localities have attempted to use the tax code to influence consumer behavior and reduce overall consumption of these drinks, according to MultiState Associates. For example, the price of regular sodas would rise in Seattle under a 2-cent-per-fluid-ounce tax proposed by Mayor Ed Murray, Vending Times reported. The levy would apply only to such sugary beverages as regular sodas, ...
