Today there are multiple options available to collect payment in vended laundries: Coins, Bills, Tokens, Central Pay Stations, Smart Cards, Mag Stripe Cards, EBT Cards, Credit Cards, and more. It is important for all owners to learn more about the pros and cons of each of these options to make the best decision possible for their own laundries. We have two highly qualified guests joining us as our keynote speakers: Wayne Lewis, Director of Sales of ESD, Inc., and Michael Coons, National Sales Manager of Standard Change-Makers, Inc.Guests will join us for a lively town square style public debate and address questions and comments on all forms of payment systems. Washington State Coin Laundry Association is holding a strategy meeting on February 11 at 10:00am at the Red Lion Inn 18220 International Blvd. They will be planning a trip to Olympia to visit legislators to discuss SB 5857 and HB 2529 which aims to remove the sales tax exemption from self-service laundries. In turn laundry owners will pay an extra 8% to 10% of gross sales to the Department of Revenue. WSCLA is asking each laundry owner to donate $50 or more for their lobbyist in Olympia. Checks can be made to WSCLA and sent to WSCLA, ATTN: Lobby Fund, C/O Rob Carrell, 8616 51st Street Ct, W University Place WA, 98467-1852. It took 7 years to earn this exemption and after 7 years of enjoying it would be truly sad to lose it.
Sothern California Coin Laundry Association will be holding a seminar on financing and refinancing options for Southern California's laundry owners and buyers. The seminar will be on Wednesday, February 29 from 5:30 to 8:00PM at The Gas Company's Energy Resource Center.
