I have always enjoyed this laundry mat and have used it for the last two years. I always make sure I am there when the doors open on Saturday mornings. I have noticed that the quality of employees and customers has been on the decline...much like everything else in this trashy town (Unlike most inbred locals...I was born and raised in another state.) I will not return to this facility after walking in this morning to the attendant complaining about having to take orders, the restroom was filthy, and she was blaring the trashiest ghetto music. "Music for the People"...sure if that would be a ghetto black person! Hey...trash comes in all colors..I would be upset if they were blaring Trashy Country as well. The music was turned up to loud..not sure how she was able to talk on her cell? That's right her cell. While folding my half dry clothes I had to listen to a lovely radio discussion about adult toys with the host and a whore from Housewives of Atlanta. Class! I should also mention that the attendant told an older female customer that she would be back in a moment...She left the store unattended when she left out the front door. She was gone for several minutes. I feel that a more professional and dedicated staff would be a great help to the future of your business. Today was the end of my patronage to Matt's Lake Effect. I'll find another place closer to home...hell Buffalo is ghetto no matter where you go...I'll save the gas money to wash closer to home. Best of luck in the future of your customers and business... at this rate, you will need it.

  • I just started a recycling

I just started a recycling program.

I used to have a 3 cubic yard container everything mixed once a week.

I switched to 2 cubic yard single stream recycle, 2 cubic yard trash bins and it cost me $25 less per month than I was paying for the one 3 cubic yard. My recycling container fills up to the top each week and my trash bin is usually empty.

I am about to switch to 1 cubic yard trash every other week and 3 cubic yard recycle weekly pickup.

  • Grand Opening

Interesting article. I agree with the distributor though, the soft opening is the way to go. You can demonstrate to customers how well and fairly you can handle unexpected problems. This can be a better sales point than free hot dogs. Also it gives your employees on the job training without the grand whoopla pressure and all the distractions of a grand opening. Remember what business you are in.

  • Rule of thumb?

Would love clarity on the rule of thumb. We've all learned more frequently that "you get what you pay for", so I do not understand your comment on this.
